All reputable breeders should be registered by this organization and abide to the code of ethic. They should not sell their puppies to wholesalers, pet shops or retailers, but try their best to find the ideal owner for each puppy.

The ABC was formed in 1952 to protect and advance the interests of the breed and to encourage and promote breed standard. The organization urges its members and breeders to accept AKC approved standard as the only standard of excellence.
