This bred is known since the 7th century; its origin is dubious, some scientists say it was developed by a French monk Hubert, other think it appeared in medieval England and Scotland especially for big game tracking. The name of the breed means “pure breeding.” Bloodhound history contains training for big game tracking and your puppy may still show this trait.
