Most puppies are not turned in to rescues and are usually obtained from a kennel.
Nowadays the dogs that we can see are the descendants of those hounds that were bred by Hubert, a 7th-century French monk who later became patron saint of hunters, and from hounds bred by other medieval noblemen who kept scent hounds as hunting dogs.

The Bloodhound is a scent hound of great size and strength with a noble, dignified expression. The history of the breed is also very distinctive. Thus the ancestors of today's Bloodhounds - St. Hubert hounds helped Europeans to celebrate the Millennium in the year 1000. Most puppies are not turned in to rescues and are usually obtained from a kennel.
