These dogs were developed specially for tracking big game and today they are used for man trailing, finding and rescuing people in emergencies. These dogs are rather large and reach 30 inches at the shoulders; females are smaller, ranging from 23 to 26 inches. A bloodhound breed is a challenge for a kennel who raises these dogs.
