Bloodhounds can be found in shelters. Owners, who underestimated Bloodhounds and overestimated their ability to care for such a dog, tend to abandon their pets. If you are planning to adopt a Bloodhound, you and your house should be prepared for it. For instance, fenced yards are a must. Most Bloodhounds can live outdoors if shelter from the sun, cold and rain are provided. Bloodhounds should not be allowed to run off leash. Their determination and their famous powerful sense of smell, there is a danger that they can take off after a scent and disappear. It is not recommended to place an adult Bloodhound in a household with small children. Bloodhounds - About Adoption Application Form
